Two vehicle accident injures one in Gray County

Gray County, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)– A Cimarron woman was injured Wednesday morning, following a two-vehicle accent around 7 a.m., 3.4 miles east of the Kansas Highway 23/U.S. Highway 50 junction in Gray County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2002 Lincoln Navigator driven by 77-year-old Patricia Lou Dewey of Cimarron was eastbound on U.S. Highway 50, and was unaware of a 2007 Kenworth Semi in the eastbound lane, driven by 22-year-old Inoel Martinez-Rubio of Garden City. The front end of the Dewey vehicle struck the third axel of the semi that was on its left side in the roadway, and came to rest in the eastbound lane with the wheels facing south.

Dewey was life watched to Wesley Medical Center for her injuries.

Both drivers involved were wearing seatbelts, according to the KHP report.
