Monday saw the opening day of the KSHSAA State Golf tournaments across the state.

In Class 6A in Hutchinson, Garden City missed the cut as a team for day 2, finishing 10th. Play was suspended Monday due to the weather, as they started day 1 early Tuesday morning. Brooke Savolt put herself in a position to play on Tuesday, as she shot four over. Megan Burr was 19 over, Ailynn Burr was 25 over, Brecken Lucas 29 over, Jayca Vargas 35 over, and Lakyn Warren was 40 over. For Dodge City, Rachel Harrold was 31 over and Breckyn Putnam was 32 over and likely won’t advance to the second day of golf. Follow along for scores here.

Class 4A in Hesston, three individuals took the course on Monday. Hugoton had two golfers, as Mogan Anderson was 54th, and Elsie Gonzalez was 61st, and didn’t make the cut for Tuesday. Hannah Wolf for Ulysses was in a tie for 36th on Monday, and made the cut for Tuesday. Follow her progress here.

At the 3-2-1A State meet in Emporia, four area golfers made it to Tuesday’s final round. Cimarron had two advance, as Bella Cofer was tied for 19th, and Presley Glenn was tied for 39th. Syracuse had a two as well, as Bronwyn Lewis was tied for 26th, and Lanee Owens was 37th. Syracuse was eighth as a team, as, Izzy Watson was 45th, Maddy Schwieterman 57th, Sammy Schwieterman was 78th, and Peyton TeVelde was 84th. For Sublette, Adalyn Boone was 81st.
