Colby wins GWAC volleyball tournament

Hugoton, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Seven GWAC schools made their way to Hugoton on Saturday for the annual Great West Activities Conference Tournament at Hugoton High School. For the Class 3A schools, it was their final chance to improve their record for regional seeding.

Colby would take their first GWAC title since 2015, going unbeaten on the day, after they defeated Goodland in the championship match. The Cowgirls were the surprise of the tournament, after finishing 0-6 in league play entering Saturday, as they would go 3-2 on the day. Holcomb outlasted Scott City in the third place match.
