To open the third quarter, Scott City marched down the field, and took it inside the Holcomb 30. A sack and fumble recovery by the Longhorns would give them the ball at their own 40. The Beavers would take over at their own 43 yard line following a Holcomb three-and-out. Facing third and 12 at the Longhorn 47, a fortunate bounce favored Scott City, as the pass from Camden Vulgamore was slightly overthrown. a Holcomb defender tipped in the air, and Kelton Cook made the catch, and ran it in for the final four yards for a Beaver touchdown with 3:36 left in the third quarter to go up 9-0 after the missed extra point.
Holcomb moved the ball on their next two possessions, but their drives would end at the Scott City 25 and Beaver 42 in the fourth quarter. They had one final shot, but turned the ball over on downs with 2:52 left at their own 31 yard line.
