Goodland takes GWAC golf tournament, overall league title

Goodland, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Great West Activities Conference hosted their annual league tournament on Monday in Goodland at Sugar Hills Golf Club. ‘

Goodland would win the GWAC meet, beating Colby by 25 shots, while Cimarron came in third. In combining all three meets towards the GWAC standings, the Cowgirls would win their first league title since 2019, while Colby was runner-up.

Individually, Goodland’s Allison Cure was the GWAC champion and the league’s Golfer of The Year. From the area, Cimarron’s Presley Glenn earned First Team honors, finishing fourth in the overall standings. Earning Honorable Mention honors were Morgan Anderson and Aislee Austin of Hugoton, Bella Cofer of Cimarron, and Hanna Wolf of Ulysses.

This year, the GWAC points toward the all-league status was combined from the Hugoton and Ulysses Invitationals, as well as the GWAC Tournament. The top six golfers earned first team, while the next six were honorable mention.
