Lebo repeats as Scott City Invitational champions

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–In perhaps the deepest tournament in its history, 10 teams made up of the annual Scott City Invitational volleyball tournament on Saturday at the Scott Community Events Center. Two ranked teams in Class 1A, Division II, to go along with current and previous volleyball powerhouses made up the field in this year’s tournament. In the end, it would be a familiar face on top, as Lebo would go 5-0 on the day, repeating as tournament champions.

The Lady Wolves, who came in as the No. 8 ranked team in Class 1A, Division II would hold off Garden Plain in the champiohship match. Norton took out MCL foe TMP Marian in the third place match.

For Scott City, it would be a tough day for the Lady Beavers. After taking the opening match against No. 6 in 1A, DII Wheatland/Grinnell, they would fall to Garden Plain in two sets, Norton in three sets, Lakin in two sets, and were stunned in the second set on a late rally by Wichita County in the seventh place match. Lakin took home sixth place.
