KSHSAA releases 2024-25 classifications

The Kansas State High School Activities Association released classifications for the 2024-2025 school year Thursday morning.

This year, just two southwest Kansas teams changed classification. Scott City returns to Class 3A after a one-year stint in Class 4A. They are the fourth largest Class 3A school. Meade returns to Class 1A after being in Class 2A for the past two seasons. They are the fifth largest Class 1A school.

Hugoton remains in Class 4A for a third consecutive season, as they are the smallest school in the classification. Elkhart is the second largest Class 1A School. Dodge City and Garden City are two of the largest high schools in the state of Kansas. Dodge City is the third largest school, while Garden City is the seventh.

Wichita East is the largest high school in Kansas with 2,544 students in grades 9-12, while Winona-Triplains is the smallest with 15 students.
