Larned takes home Scott City tennis title
Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–On a beautiful early fall Monday, eight teams would make up of the Scott City Tennis Invitational held at the Scott City Middle School courts. Despite not winning a singles or doubles title, Larned would edge Liberal for the team title, with 48 points, while Liberal had 45 and Colby was third with 41.
Two area winners included Clarissa Sianuqui from Ulysses rallying late to win the No. 1 Singles title. Scott City’s No. 1 Doubles team of Kaylee Felker/Finley Edwards were in a tight championship match with Annabelle Schneider/Mia Reynolds of Tribune, and Felker/Edwards closed the match with the final three points to win 8-6 and win the tournament.
Also taking home titles were Allison Zimmerman of Colby at No. 2 Singles and Seara Uribe/Maliah Navarro of Liberal at No. 2 Doubles.
