Multiple bridge repair project to begin July 1 in Ford/Hodgeman counties
A project to repair three bridges will start on July 1 along U.S. 283 and K-156 in Ford and Hodgeman counties, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
Bridge work will take place simultaneously, starting with U.S. 283 over the Saw Log Creek Bridge North of Dodge City and K-156 bridge over Buckner Creek East of Hanston. After the completion of these two bridges, the contractor will start repairs on the bridge over Buckner Creek along U.S. 283 in Jetmore.
When this traffic change begins in July, motorists should be aware of short delays as one-lane traffic will be directed by temporary traffic signals through the work zone. The lane reduction will be marked by signs and cones. There will be a width restriction of 14 feet.
PCI Roads LLC, of Saint Michael, Minnesota, is the contractor on this $906,759.24 project, which, weather permitting, is expected to be completed by the beginning of November.
