Work to begin on island on Wyatt Earp Boulevard

Dodge City, Kan.–The City of Dodge City has announced that work will begin on a stretch of Wyatt Earp Boulevard.

Starting June 25, work will begin on the island located east of the Wyatt Earp Boulevard and Central Avenue intersection, as shown in the map below. During this time, the inside lanes of Wyatt Earp Boulevard will be closed to complete modifications to the island and storm drainage system. These modifications aim to improve left-turning movements from Central Avenue onto Wyatt Earp Boulevard. Please note that eastbound traffic on Wyatt Earp Boulevard will not be able to turn north onto Central Avenue until Friday, June 28, to allow for the completion of demolition work. The entire island project is expected to last between four and six weeks.

When maneuvering through the construction site, please be alert for equipment, loose or shifting soil, freshly placed concrete, freshly placed tar sealant, etc. Be aware of your surroundings while passing through the construction area. We ask that you abide by all traffic control measures for your safety and the safety of others.
