Buffalo Grapplers Dominate 6A Regional and Qualify 13 for State Tournament

Hutchinson, KS (www.westernkansasnews.com) – Its been a banner year for the Garden City Buffalo Wrestling team to this stage of the season and they put together another grand performance last Saturday at the 6A Regional at Hutchinson with a dominating victory. The Buffaloes produced 6 Regional Champions and amassed 217.5 points to claim the team title, Derby finished 2nd with 168, Wichita Northwest placed 3rd with 107. The Buffaloes will take 13 to the State Tournament next weekend at Hartman Arena at Wichita, the only weight class that will not be represented by Garden City at state is the heavy weight division, as junior Montana Fuller struggled after his opening victory. The 2013 6A State Wrestling Tournament will start on Friday and run through Saturday this weekend February 22-23, at the Hartman Arena in Wichita. The Garden City Buffaloes Wrestling team has recorded 7 State Team Championships in their history with the last title in 1999.
