Wichita bank robbery suspect caught in Meade County

Meade County, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–In the early hours of Wednesday, the Meade County Sheriff’s Office received information that a suspect vehicle and its driver who was suspected in a bank robbery in Wichita could be traveling on US Highway 54.

Just before 2:30 pm, a Meade County Deputy saw the suspect traveling west on US Highway 54 at mile marker 46. Deputies attempted a traffic stop from which the suspect fled in their vehicle and was subsequently ended within the city limits of Meade, at the intersection of W. Belle Meade and N. Beam Center Dr.

The driver, 67-year-old Craig Henderson, was taken into custody without incident and is currently held at the Meade County Jail for local charges of felony flee and elude, and aggravated assault on law enforcement officer. 

Any infromation concerning Henderson’s connection and/or involvement with crimes in Wichita will need to be sought out by Wichita PD or FBI.
