Small plane lands in Lane County field
Lane County, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Just after 2:30 pm on Saturday, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, Lane County Fire and Lane County EMS were dispatched to an aircraft emergency in the area of Kansas Highway 96 and Jagger Road, west of Dighton.
Three people were aboard the plane, and avoided injuries.
On arrival it was determined that a twin engine Piper aircraft had lost both engines and was forced to land in a field. The pilot and two passengers were uninjured and the plane did not appear to have significant damage.
The Kansas Highway Patrol responded to the incident. Any additional information about the identity of the occupants or ownership of the plane would be provided by KHP at the conclusion of their investigation.
