Dodge City man dies in Ford County accident

Ford County, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–A Dodge City man died Friday after a two-vehicle accident in Ford County.

According to the report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 20-year-old Aaron Contreras of Dodge City was northbound on U.S. Highway 56, when he went left of center for an unknown reason and struck a southbound 2021 Kenworth semi truck driven by 59-year-old Martin A. Bejarano of Douglas, Arizona. 

Both drivers were taken to St. Catherine Hospital in Dodge City. Contreras was pronounced deceased, while Bejarano suffered minor injuries, according to the KHP report.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts in the accident that occurred just after 11:30 am.
