Goodland wins GWAC Tournament; Ulysses wins overal league title
Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Saturday brought the seven Great West Activities Conference teams to Scott City for the annual GWAC Volleyball Tournament, held at the Scott Community Events Center. This year’s tournament was the first time pool play and bracket play was used, as each team would get four or five matches.
Goodland would win the three-way tie in pool play, and go on to win the GWAC Tournament in a competitive match over Holcomb. Despite losing the tiebreaker and placing third in their pool. Ulysses won the overall league title for the first time since 2018. The league standings are determined by not only their record in the league tournament, but also with the record in league triangulars and duals. Holcomb would move into second place overall in the league standings.
