U.S. Marshals arrest man accused of fleeing accident scene in southwest Kansas in 2019
Grant County, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–U.S. Marshals have reported that a man who stole a pickup after a fatality crash in 2019 has been arrested in Georgia.
According to the report, 46-year-old Pablo I. Garcia was arrested on July 28 in Douglas County, Georgia. It was a joint task by the Kansas Fugitive Apprehension Task Force and the Southeast Region Fugitive Task Force for leaving the scene of an accident which involved great bodily injury/death, and felony theft.
Garcia was wanted in Grant County, after a fatal accident in October 2019 that killed 57-year-old Kevin Jay Coyle and 81-year-old Gerald Lee Coyle. The acciddent occored at county roads 10 and X in Grant County.
The Marshals Service said Garcia stole a pickup from a witness and fled the scene. The pickup was later found abandoned.
Garcia was also wanted for a federal supervised release violation in Wichita, where his is currently being held without bond, according to online jail records.
