Burglary investigation leads to arrest of Scott City man
Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–A burglary investigation early Tuesday morning led to an arrest of a Scott City man.
At approximately 2:35 a.m. Officers with the Scott City Police Department responded to an address for a burglary. During the investigation it was discovered that the suspect had broken into a home and battered someone before fleeing the scene. Officers were able to locate the suspect at a separate residence in Scott City at 3:13 a.m.
Officers arrested 33-year-old Jay Jefferey Weston of Scott City was arrested for Burglary, Possession of methamphetamine, Possession of drug paraphernalia, Interference with Law Enforcement Officer, and Domestic Battery. He was transported to the Scott County Jail.
The case will be forwarded to the Scott County Attorney for prosecution.
