Williamson resigns as Buffalo basketball coach

Garden City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–When an opportunity at home calls, it’s tough to turn down. That’s what Jeff Williamson faced.

Over the weekend, Williamson informed his team that he was resigning as head boys basketball coach for Garden City after a two-year run. He has accepted a job at his alma mater at Logan High School in Logan, West Virginia.

Over the past two seasons, Williamson was 30-13. Coming from Woodward, OK, the Garden City was 10-11 in the 2021-22 season. In the 2022-23 season, he led the Buffaloes to one of their best starts in program history, as they finished 20-2, falling to Junction City in the sub-state championship. Their other loss came to Class 6A Runner-up Wichita Heights.
