Scott City police make Friday arrests for alleged battery and theft of funds

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Scott City Police Department had a busy Friday, making two arrests for alleged battery and theft of funds.

The first incident came just after 1 am. An Officer with the Scott City Police Department was dispatched to the Scott County Hospital for a battery report. During the investigation it was discovered that an incident had occurred at a residence in Scott City just prior to the victim arriving at the Hospital. The suspect was identified as Chance Archie Seamans, 34, of Scott City.

Officers were unsuccessful in locating Seamans during the overnight hours. Just before 10:30 am, Officers located and arrested Seamans.
 
Seamans was arrested for Aggravated Domestic Battery and taken to the Scott County Jail. The case will be forwarded to the Scott County Attorney for prosecution.

The second incident was reported just before 9:30 am Friday, when an Officer with the Scott City Police Department took a report from a citizen reporting theft of funds. During the investigation, it was discovered that over the last two months, money had been taken from their account. A total of $2,385 was missing from the account.
 
David Joseph DeBusk, age 24 of Scott City, was arrested before 5:30 pm on Friday for Criminal Use of a Financial card and taken to the Scott County Jail.
 
The case will be forwarded to the Scott County Attorney for prosecution.
