Nine Buffaloes Ink Letter of Intent at Garden City High School
Garden City, Kan – It has been an incredibly successful athletics year for Garden City High School. That trend continued on Wednesday at Garden City High School with nine Buffaloes signing their letter of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers.
Garden City Baseball
Hayden Bailey | Outfielder – Garden City Community College
Bailey is a 2-year letter winner in baseball and will be staying home to join head coach Caleb Cox at Garden City Community College next season. Bailey is currently batting .380 with 5 doubles and 21 runs scored as the leadoff hitter for the Buffaloes this season.
Adam Cook | Pitcher – Ottawa University
Adam is a two-year letterman for baseball and has worked exclusively as a pitcher this season. He will head to Ottawa where he is expected to be a reliever in the back end of the bullpen for the Braves. Ottawa competes in the KCAC and is NAIA.
Austin Elam | Catcher – Garden City Community College
Austin has been a consistent defensive wall behind home plate for Garden City. This season he is batting .296 with 4 extra-base hits and 7 RBIs as the cleanup hitter for GCHS. He will take his talent to Garden City Community College next season. Austin also played Football in the fall and even had offers to play in bands at different schools.
Garden City Girls Soccer
Leydaly Y. Enriquez | Garden City Community College
Leydaly is a 3-year letterman winner and was a 2022 WAC Honorable Mention. She also was a part of the 2022 WAC and Regional Championship team. Ledaly is a team captain on this year’s team. She will play for Corey Bryant at Garden City.
Andrea Aguilar Jimenez | Garden City Community College
Andrea is also a 3-year letter winner at GCHS. In 2021 she was a member of the WAC 2nd team then in 2022, she was a member of the first team. Along with being a team captain she also was a part of the 2022 WAC and Regional Championship team.
Thania Flores-Hernandez | Garden City Community College
Thania is the third and final member of the GCHS Soccer team to sign with Garden City Community College. Thania was a 2nd team All-WAC member in 2022 and a team captain in 2023.
Garden City Boys Soccer
Emiliano Garcia | Barton Community College
Emiliano is a 4-year starter for GCHS and was a 1st team All-WAC selection in the fall. A 2-year captain will stay near home and play in the Jayhawk Conference.
Garden City Softball
Kamryn Foster | Catcher – Bethany College
Kamryn is a 3-year letter winner for Trina Mai at GCHS. Over her career, she has played both outfield and catcher recording nearly 500 putouts. In her career, she has 3 home runs including 2 this season.
Brie Manwarren | Pitcher – MidAmerica Nazarene University
The 2-time reigning WAC player of the year will go to Olathe, Kansas to continue her softball career. At GCHS she has collected 572 strikeouts and holds the single-season record for most doubles in a season with 14.
