Hugoton Police arrest two for alleged child abuse
Hugoton, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Hugoton Police Department are investigating alleged child abuse.
On Monday, April 17, Officers were dispatched to to the 700 block of South Harrison Street in Hugoton for a welfare check of a child.
Officers found a three-year-old male with visible signs of abuse. Further investigation determined that on more than one occasion, the child was left at home alone for long periods of time.
The child was removed from the home and was placed in protective custody. Arrested were 19-year-old Chandra Clark of Hugoton for one count of Child Abuse and two counts of Aggravated Endangering of a Child. Also arrested was 20-year-old Garrette Hinds of Hugoton on two counts of Aggravated Endangering of a Child. Both were transported to Stevens Jail.
This case has been forwarded to the Stevens County Attorney.
