Teen crashed into containment pond during chase

Gray County, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–One person was injured Sunday evening, after crashing into a containment pond in Gray County. The accident happened just before 9 pm.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol Report, 18-year-old Tanner Godwin was fleeing from Meade County in a 2021 Nissan Murano, when he tried to turn off onto KK Road. He turned wide and went off the road, going into a ditch, and came to rest in a dry containment pond.

Godwin was taken to Meade District Hospital for minor injuries. There was an additional juvenile in the vehicle. The Patrol report did not release where Godwin was from.
