City of Garden City provides update on the Windsor Hotel

Garden City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The City of Garden City has provided an update on the Windsor Hotel, after bricks were discovered in the alley from the hotel last week.

This past weekend, the Garden City Fire Department and the contractor for Finney County Preservation Alliance, Inc., owner of the Windsor Hotel, shored up the rear wall and façade of the Windsor Hotel based on the recommendations of the State Fire Marshal’s Office Structural Engineer. The barricades placed on Main Street have been removed, and parking is now available in front of the Windsor Hotel.

There is no restricted access to the perimeter of the Windsor Hotel at this time.

Thank you to the Garden City Fire Department, Garden City Police Department, Garden City Street Department, Garden City Electric Department, Garden City Neighborhood & Development Services Department, Finney County Emergency Management, Finney County EMS, Black Hills Energy, Pioneer Communications, and Finney County Preservation Alliance, Inc. for their timely response and cooperation.
