Matt Miller is Broncbusters 21st Head Coach
Garden City, KS – Martin Luther King day will always remain special for Matt Miller for years to come. On this historic day Matt Miller, a Bill Snyder protege, was named head football coach for the Garden City Community Broncbusters. Coach Miller follows former head coach Jeff Tatum who resigned 10 days ago to accept the same position at Mississippi Delta Community College. Coach Matt Miller served as Tatum’s offensive coordinator this past season resurrecting the Buster offense to a top 3 national finish in total offense. Matt Miller is a 1991 Graduate of Mt. Carmel High School in San Diego California. Matt attended Texas A&M University before transferring to Kansas State University where he played in football and baseball starring in both sports.
From 1996-2006, under the direction of Kansas State University Head Coach Bill Snyder, Coach Miller was assigned assistant coach for the Wildcats, Coaching tight ends and tackles. Coach Miller quickly progressed to the position of Quarterbacks Coach and assisted Coach Snyder in game planning the offense. During Coach Miller’s tenure Coach Miller helped propel Kansas State University Football to five, Big 12 North Championship Teams, and eventually became the 2003 Big 12 Champions. Coach Miller while at Kansas State University was highly regarded as a national recruiter. Coach Miller signed many future NFL playersincluding Darren Sproles. Coach Miller has extensive experience in public speaking and fundraising throughout Kansas as a representative for the “Catbackers Booster Club.”
After Kansas State, Coach Miller assumed a career in business with Aerotek, in Kansas City, MO. Coach Miller received the fastest promotion in franchise history being elevated to Recruiter 2 status and into the Managerial Program. Matt combining his football coaching competitiveness, with his business talent, forged ahead starting his own company. Matt represented “Onsight Solutions,” as owner and regional sales manager. In the late summer of 2012 Coach Miller was hired by former head coach Jeff Tatum to serve Broncbuster football in the capacity of offensive coordinator.
Coach Miller was instrumental in taking steps to resurrect Buster Football to national prominence with a win over Copiah-Lincoln in the 2013 Mississippi Bowl. In Coach Millers first year the Broncbuster Offense achieved the following: Led offense to #3 National Ranking in TOTAL OFFENSE Garden City averaged nearly 50 points a game in Jayhawk play Coached the Jayhawk Conference Player of The Year and 2nd Team All-American Nick Marshall Coached 1st Team All-Ameican Tyreek Hill and 1st Team All-Conference Receiver Rod Coleman Coached 6 players who received All-Jayhawk Conference recognition
