Garden City Woman arrested in aggravated battery incident

Garden City, Kan. (Garden City P.D.)–On December 10 at around 3:20 A.M., Officers of the Garden City Police Department were dispatched to the area of Taylor Avenue and Mulberry Street for a fight between two females. Upon arrival, Officers met with a woman and a man with visible injuries and learned they had been in an altercation with another woman.
The investigation revealed the man and woman offered 31-year old Raquel Contreras of Garden City a ride home from a party. During the ride, Contreras became upset and attacked both individuals with her fists and feet. Contreras also struck the man in the head with a glass bottle, causing a laceration to his head. During the altercation, Contreras attempted to drive away in the car without permission before fleeing the area on foot. The man was transported to St. Catherine Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
 
Contreras was later located in the area and taken into custody without incident. Contreras was lodged in the Finney County Jail on the charges of Aggravated Battery, Battery, Interference LEO (F), and Attempted Auto Theft.
