Conqs sweep Northwest Kansas Tech
DODGE CITY–Dodge City’s men raced out to a 15-4 lead and led by double digits the rest of the way, cruising to an 86-72 win over Northwest Kansas Tech Wednesday, and the Conq women dominated the Lady Mavericks 86-40 in a doubleheader at the Student Activities Center.
In the men’s game, Jacobi Sebock tied a career high with 22 points on 10-of-12 shooting from the field. Jason Edwards, the Conqs’ leading scorer this season, also had 22.
Cam Malray notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds for Dodge.
Dodge City shot nearly 50% from the field after turning in their best shooting performance of the season at Seward Saturday.
Wednesday’s victory marked Dodge City’s 20th consecutive win at home.
The No. 10 Conquistadors improve to 8-1 (4-0 KJCCC) with the win and return to action Saturday when they travel to Garden City. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT.
In the women’s game, Dodge City led wire-to-wire, taking a commanding 25-7 lead at the end of the first quarter and holding the lead from there. The Conqs are in the top 10 nationally in made threes per game, and they knocked down 10 Wednesday night.
Bree Stephens racked up a career high 24 points, making 10-of-14 shots from the floor, including 3-of-5 on threes. She entered the game just 19% from distance.
Dodge City out-rebounded the Lady Mavs 50-29 in the game and forced 29 turnovers.
The Conquistadors improve to 8-2 (3-1 KJCCC) with the win and return to action Saturday when they travel to Garden City. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT.
