Four-lane expansion closes U.S. 400 bypass in Ford County
Dodge City, Kan (WesternKansasNews.Com) –
Changes are tentatively set to begin Oct. 10, along U.S. 400 bypass in Ford County as part of the four-lane expansion project on U.S. 50/400. In connection with this project, 106 Road in Ford County will be closed on Oct. 3, from U.S. 50/400 to 106 Road/Garnett junction for a week. Please note U.S. 400 bypass will close once 106 Road is open to traffic.
The U.S. 400 bypass, from the U.S. 50 junction south to the U.S. 56 junction, will be closed for three weeks due to road construction. Traffic will follow the signed detour on U.S. 50, U.S. 283, U.S. 56 and U.S. 400. KDOT uses state highways for official detour routes for safety, weight and maintenance concerns. The map below shows the approximate location of the closure and the detour outlined in blue with arrows.
Koss Construction of Topeka is the contractor on this $86 million project, which is expected to be completed by spring of 2025, weather permitting.
