No.1 Kansas Sets Sights On No. 4 Providence Friday In Sweet 16 Matchup
Garden City, Kan (WesternKansasNews.Com) – March Madness has been a true test for some of the top programs across the nation this last week, but for the Kansas Jayhawks, their season continues on.
Saturday proved to be a true test for the Jayhawks in their Round of 32 matchup with 9th seeded Creigthon. Creighton was not favored prior to tip-off due to injuries wirthin the roster, that speculation would soon been squashed.
Creighton came out strong in the first half and lead the Jayhawks for first few muinutes. Kansas’s Remy Martin helped push the Jayhawks to a 1 point lead at the half 39-38. In the second half Kansas was able to shut down Creighton despite their 12 made 3pts.
Remy Martin ended his day with 20 Points, 9 Rebounds, 8 Assist, and 3 Steals to help Kansas punch their ticket to the Sweet 16. The win Saturday also tied the Jayhawks with Kentucky for all-time NCAA wins.
The Jayhwaks will now face off No. 4 Providence Friday, March 25th at 6:29 P.M. in Chicago. The winner will face the winner of No. 10 Miami vs No. 11 Iowa st.
