Foot Pursuit Leads to Methamphetamine Arrest in Garden City

GARDEN CITY, Kan (WesternKansasNews.com) – On February 13, 2022, at 1:40 A.M., Officers of the Garden City Police Department responded to the area of Hudson and Fulton Streets for an active car alarm. While patrolling the area, Officers located a man, later identified as Sigfredo Cabrera (25), Garden City, KS, walking away from a vehicle. Officers had prior knowledge that Cabrera had an active felony warrant through Hamilton County, KS.

As Officers attempted to speak with Cabrera, Cabrera became defensive and fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, Cabrera was apprehended and taken into custody. Through further investigation, Officers located suspected methamphetamine on Cabrera.

Cabrera was lodged in the Finney County Jail on the charges of Unlawful Distribution of a
Controlled Substance and Interference with LEO (F), as well as his outstanding warrant
from Hamilton County.
