Dirks approved as next Scott City Activities Director/Assistant Principal
Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Finding the right fit to be an Activities Director/Assistant Principal can be a challenge. Fortunately for Scott City, the right fit came within the district. On Monday night, Aaron Dirks was approved as the next Activities Director/Assistant Principal for Scott Community High School at the USD No. 466 Board of Education Meeting.
Dirks has been in the Scott County school district since the 2012-13 school year, where he has served as a social science teacher. In addition to his teaching duties, he has been an assistant coach in wrestling, track and girls golf.
For the past three seasons, Dirks has been the head wrestling coach in Scott City, where the Beavers have placed third, eighth and 13th in his tenure, with three individual state champions, and two additional finalists.
He is a 2002 graduate of Scott Community High School, and will replace Randy Huck, who is retiring at the conclusion of the 2020-21 school year.
