Conservation Carousel – Lee Richardson Zoo
Lee Richardson Zoo
Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo (FOLRZ) is happy to announce that the Conservation Carousel will be running this weekend, September 19 and 20, from 2 pm to 4 pm. This will be the inaugural weekend for the amusement ride after the ceremonial opening on September 15th, which celebrated the end of construction. Tickets are $2 per rider. Riders must be at least 42” tall to ride alone. It’s free for an adult to stand by a rider that they are accompanying. Tickets can be purchased at the carousel with cash or at the Safari Shoppe using cash or credit card (additional fee for credit card transactions).
The same schedule will be in effect on the weekends of September 26/27 and Oct 3/4. Scheduled times may change based on inclement weather (snow, rain, temperatures below 50 degrees Fahrenheit). Further opportunities to ride the carousel will be posted on the Friends’ and the Zoo’s websites and Facebook pages. Guests can also call 620-276-6243 or 2661 to see if the carousel will be running that day.
Starting Monday, September 21st, the Safari Shoppe will be open 12-5 Sunday through Friday and 10-5 on Saturday. Stay tuned for information regarding when the Wild Dog Stop concessions will be fully operational. Proceeds raised by FOLRZ go towards funding zoo improvements.
