Brenda Lee Parks, age 58, of Manter, Kansas, passed away Friday, July 3, 2020, at Stanton County Hospital in Johnson, Kansas. She was born February 25, 1962, in Lamar, Colorado, the daughter of James Olan and Loretta Mae (Tague) Kirkland.
Brenda lived in Springfield, Colorado, until 1968 when at the age of six years, her family moved to Johnson, Kansas. Brenda married Clayton Dwayne Parks on August 5, 1978, at the First United Methodist Church in Johnson. Brenda was a truck driver and loving mother to three sons. She was very involved with her kids, helping with their sports and activities. She was their biggest fan. She loved her grandkids and great-grandson and loved to attend any activities they were involved in. She was a very proud Grandma and loved her family dearly. Brenda enjoyed playing softball and reading; and attended Fields Memorial Wesleyan Church.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Clayton; sons, Eddie Parks and wife Samantha of Springfield, Colorado, Jess Parks and wife Shannon of Wichita, and Tyson Parks and Whitney of Dickinson, North Dakota; brothers, Robert Kirkland and wife Cheryl of Denver, Colorado, Loyd Kirkland of Manter, and John Kirkland and wife Janet of Chanute; sisters, Cathy Thomas and husband Danny of Pampa, Texas, and Pam Moore of Johnson; sister-in-law, Denette Kirkland of Syracuse; 16 grandchildren; Haley Parks, Ali Parks, Kylie Parks, Hayli Mackey, Kurt Parks, Marley Parks, Willow Parks, Kinzie Toole, Daylen Parks, Brody Parks, Brynlee Parks, Blair Holiday, Wyatt Parks, Marshall Parks, Aubree Parks, and Garrett Parks; one great-grandson, Lane Westphal; and numerous nieces and nephews
Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, James and Loretta Kirkland; and brothers, Jim Kirkland and Olan Kirkland.
Memorial service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 11, 2020, at Fields Memorial Wesleyan Church in Johnson, Kansas, with Reverend Kurt Rovenstine officiating.
