GCPD Media Release – Aggravated Assault
Garden City Police Department
On May 11th, 2020, Officers of the Garden City Police Department were made aware of a
situation where a Garden City man used a weapon to threaten a woman who was known to
him.
Upon investigation, officers learned the suspect, Roderick Brown (31), 2615 N Main
Street #7A, had outstanding warrants out of Arkansas for the following: Furnishing
Prohibited Articles, Aggravated Assault, Battery in the 2nd Degree, Aggravated Assault,
Terroristic Threat, Possession of a Firearm by a Certain Person, Sexual Assault, Felony
Flee and Elude, Failure to Register for Child Sex Offenses, and multiple Drug and
Paraphernalia charges. Due to the nature of the listed charges, a request for the Garden
City S.W.A.T. team was made.
On May 12th, at 6:51 P.M., the Garden City S.W.A.T. team conducted service of a search
warrant at 2615 North Main Street Apt #7A.
Brown was located inside of the apartment and arrested without incident. Brown was
arrested on charges of Aggravated Assault, Felon in Possession of a Weapon, and
Possession of Marijuana and lodged in the Finney County Jail. The case has been
forwarded to the Finney County Attorney’s Office for further review.
