Indianapolis 500 postponed to August
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indianapolis 500 has been postponed from May 24 to August 23 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be the first time since 1946 that the race has not been held over Memorial Day weekend.
“The month of May at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is my favorite time of year, and like our fans, I am disappointed that we have had to reschedule the Indianapolis 500,” said Roger Penske, who finalized his purchase of IndyCar and Indianapolis Motor Speedway earlier this year.
