City of Dodge City
DODGE CITY, Kansas — The City of Dodge City Human Resources Office has announced that Abbey Martin has been promoted to Public Information Officer effective January 1, 2020. Martin has worked for the City of Dodge City as a Public Information Specialist since 2017.
“She has been instrumental in our efforts to develop our social media reach, increase community engagement and implementing live streaming of our City Commission meetings,” Melissa McCoy, Assistant City Manager of Public Affairs said. “We look forward to more progressive accomplishments as Abbey further develops the City’s Public Information efforts.”
Martin stated that she is excited about the change and is looking forward to developing new strategies to communicate the City’s goals with the community.
“My overarching goal since I started with the City was to increase transparency with our residents,” Martin said. “With this promotion, that goal does not change. It will simply be expanded. I don’t want just to tell the public what is going on in their local government, I want to engage and promote conversation as well.”
