Kenneth Henderson Middle School Threat

GCPD

On October 21, 2019, at approximately 1:30 P.M., Officers of the Garden City Police
Department were called to Kenneth Henderson Middle School in reference to a student
making a threat towards the school students and staff.

During the investigation, officers learned several students of Kenneth Henderson Middle
School had come forward to school administration, stating they heard another student
make a comment about “shooting up the school.”

A 7th-grade student (Age 13) at Kenneth Henderson Middle School admitted to making the
comment and was subsequently suspended. An affidavit will be filed with the Finney
County Attorney’s Office requesting charges of Criminal Threat.

We encourage you to remind your child to report any information about any school safety-
related incidents to administrators/staff at school and/or the Garden City Police Department.
