College Application Event Planned At GCHS
USD 457
Garden City High School will work with its seniors on October 21st and 22nd to complete and submit at least one college application as part of Kansas’ college access initiative. Kae Lee Armstrong, Apply Kansas: College Application Month event Site Coordinator for Garden City High School, expects more than 300 seniors to participate with the help of volunteers from USD 457, colleges, and other community members.
The purpose of the event is to help high school seniors navigate the complex college admissions process and to get more students applying to Kansas colleges early in their senior year. During this event, students may apply to any of Kansas’ institutions of higher education in which they are interested.
The effort occurs during the school day, with a focus on students who might not otherwise apply to college. The majority of participating students will submit their first college application during the school’s event.
