1 Injured in Finney County Crash
FINNEY COUNTY, Kan. — One person was injured following a two-vehicle accident in Finney County on Monday afternoon around 3:47 pm.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2003 Ford Expedition and semi Freightliner were traveling eastbound on the outside lane of U50. The semi began to slow down to stop at the railroad tracks. The driver of the Ford, 23 year-old Benjamin Villa Rodriguez of Hooker Oklahoma collided with the semi trailer.
Villa Rodriguez was taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital with a suspected serious injury. The driver of the semi, James Banning of Ulysses was not injured. Both drivers were wearing safety restraints according to the KHP.
