GCPD searching for man in connection with burglary, rape
GARDEN CITY, Kan. — The Garden City Police Department is asking for the public’s help as it searches for a man suspected in both a burglary and rape charge that happened on Tuesday morning.
Garden City Police were dispatched to a home in the southeast area of the city shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday for a reported residential burglary in progress.
When the GCPD arrived on scene they located an adult women inside the residence.
The GCPD stated, “The initial investigation revealed an unknown man entered the woman’s residence armed with a weapon. Once inside, the man sexually assaulted the woman and caused significant injury to her. The suspect then fled the area. The woman was transported to St. Catherine Hospital by Finney County EMS.”
GCPD has described the suspect as a male around 40 years old, having brown eyes and dark eyebrows and standing about six feet tall with a slim build. The man is further described as being clean shaven and was reported wearing a brown Carhartt-style coat, a stocking hat, a light gray sweatshirt with unknown wording on the front and a light gray t-shirt underneath. The description also says the man was wearing a brown watch on his left wrist and had a large tattoo on his chest and three tattoos on his right rib cage.
