Broncbusters ground and pound Conqs
GARDEN CITY, Kan. – With Garden City only throwing one pass in the game, the Conquistadors fell to the Broncbusters on Saturday night, 52-24.
The Broncbusters racked up 316 rushing yards on 22 carries in the first half, throwing just one pass for five yards. Throughout the second half, the Busters did not throw a single pass but collected a total of 495 total yards, while Dodge City had 303.

The Dodge City offense came out moving the ball well, but a bad snap on third down stalled the drive and forced Devonta Guillory<http://goconqs.com/
On the very next drive the Broncbusters drove the field and eventually punched it into the endzone on a one-yard run to take the lead back, 7-3.
Dodge City then came back with a long drive, but on third down, John Lux<http://goconqs.com/roster.
After the ensuing kickoff, the Broncbusters came out in the wildcat and ran just one play and went the distance to score their second touchdown to make it 14-6.
With both offenses scoring on every drive, Dodge City drove down inside the Garden City 10-yard line, but was unable to punch it in the endzone, as Guillory kicked his third field goal of the half to cut the lead to 14-9.
The Conquistadors then seemed to get their first stop of the game, but Dodge City was lined up offside which kept the drive alive and the Broncbusters scored a touchdown on the very next play to make it 21-9.
The Conquistadors had to punt on their next possession, and after finally throwing their first pass of the game, the Busters went back to the ground to score their fourth touchdown in as many drives to make it 28-9 with just over two minutes until halftime.
After another defensive stop by the Broncbusters, Garden City scored on the first play of their possession to extend their lead to 35-9 heading into the locker room.
The Dodge City defense regrouped in the locker room at halftime and came out and got their first stop of the game to start the second half. After Dodge City turned it over on downs and the Conquistador defense got another stop, Lux was able to find Eugene Minter<http://goconqs.com/
On Garden City’s very next possession, they had to punt the ball away. After kicking it once, a penalty made the Busters punt a second time, and Dodge City was able to break through the line and block the punt to give Dodge City the ball on the Garden City 15 yard line.

Garden City then regained all momentum for the rest of the game, breaking the game back open and eventually winning the game, 52-24.
Dodge City is now 0-2 on the year and 0-2 in KJCCC play. They will be in action next Saturday, Sept. 8, when they host Gordon’s Fine Arts and Sports Academy at 1 p.m.
