U.S. 83 mill and overlay project begins in Scott County
Crews are expected to begin a mill and overlay project on U.S. 83 in Scott County on Monday, July 9. The project will begin where the concrete pavement ends north of Scott City and continue north 14.9 miles to the Scott/Logan County Line.
U.S. 83 will be reduced to one lane with traffic controlled by flaggers and a pilot car. Drivers should expect a delay of 15 minutes or less. KDOT urges drivers to be alert, pay attention to all work zone warning signs, slow down when approaching a work zone and be prepared to stop.
APAC Shears of Hutchinson is the contractor on this $1.6 million project which is expected to be completed in August, weather permitting.
