Cimarron takes third at 3A State Golf; two Scott City golfers compete
Seneca, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Making the long trek to Seneca, the Class 3A area qualifiers hit the links on Monday at the Class 3A State Golf Tournament held at Spring Creek Golf Course in Seneca. Cimarron found themselves in the mix of the team sweepstakes, and the team race would be a tight one for the top three places. In the end, the Cimarron Bluejays would finish in third as a team, and were only four shots back of the state champion Sabetha Bluejays. Phillispubrg was two shots back as a team behind Sabetha, finishing in second.
Individually, Josh Seabolt closed out his high school career by taking home a medal, finishing in ninth. He was in a three-way tie for second, but lost the playoff. Seabolt’s teammate Justin Fugitt won a playoff for the 10th place spot. Matthew Mowry was in a six-way tie for 20th.
For Scott City, Shea Morris came in a tie for 51st and Jackson Lewis was tied for 55th.
