Goodland would take advantage of a Scott City error in the bottom of the fifth, as Biermann scored from second on a fielding error to pull to within 4-2. While the last two innings would remain scoreless, the Cowboys would keep the tying run at the plate in their final seven outs. Beaver pitcher Kevin Herman would stikeout the side in the seventh, and pick up a no hitter.

Kevin Herman went all seven innings on the mound for the Beavers, giving up two runs, one earned. He struck out 11, despite walking four and hit two batters.
