2OT loss ends Lady Demons soccer season

Lawrence, KS(westernkansasnews.com) The Dodge City High School girls soccer team lost in double overtime to Lawrence Free State 2-1  in the opening round of the playoffs Monday.

The game was a defensive struggle throughout, including a scoreless first half. In the second half the Lady Demons struck first with a goal from Alisia Solis making it 1-0. The Lady Firebirds tied the game with 2:18 left in the second half forcing overtime at 1-1.

The first overtime went scoreless ending with the score still 1-1. In the second overtime Free State would strike with the winning goal, 2-1.

Dodge City finishes the season with a record of 6-8-2.
