Railroad crossing repair closes K-96 in Lane County

SKO/KO Railroad will begin railroad crossing repairs to the K-96 crossing in Lane County on Tuesday, May 15.  K-96 will be closed from the K-23 junction in Dighton to the U.S. 283 junction in Ness City during the repairs which are expected to be completed by Sunday, May 20, weather permitting.

A detour will be in place carrying eastbound traffic north on K-23 from Dighton to K-4, east on K-4 to U.S. 283, south on U.S. 283 to K-96 in Ness City.  Westbound traffic will take U.S. 283 north from Ness City to K-4, west on K-4 to K-23 and south on K-23 to Dighton.  KDOT urges drivers to be alert, pay attention to all work zone warning signs, slow down when approaching a work zone and be prepared to stop.
