Dodge City sweeps doubleheader at South
Wichita, KS(westernkansasnews.com) The Dodge City High School baseball team hammered Wichita South on the road Friday sweeping the doubleheader 23-0 in three innings and 11-1 in five innings.
Game one
Dodge City(3-1) jumped out to a 7-0 lead after two innings before scoring 16 in the third to end the game. Adrian Mendoza(1-0) got the win only allowing one hit through three innings. Noah Sowers led the way going 3-4 with 3 RBI and 2 runs. Mendoza also went 2-2 with 3 RBI and 3 runs and Wyatt Childress was 2-3 with 3 RBI.
Game two
The Red Demons jumped on South in the first inning scoring 4 runs and never looking back. Kaden Riekenberg(1-0) got the win pitching all 5 innings and giving up 5 hits and 1 run. Riekenberg also helped his own cause going 2-2 with 2 RBI and 3 runs. Alden Knedler was 2-3 with 2 RBI.
Dodge City baseball is back in action Tuesday at home when they start WAC play with a doubleheader with Hays. Pregame coverage begins at 3:45 on the Z-98 app.
