Governor Colyer touring parts of drought-stricken Southwest Kansas Thursday
Topeka, KS(westernkansasnews.com) Thursday Governor Jeff Colyer will make a couple stops in southwest Kansas to observe drought conditions. Colyer will be joined by Secretary of Agricultur Jackie McClaskey, Kansas Water Department Director Tracy Streeter, Kansas Farm Bureau President Rich Felts, and KLA Vice President of Government Affairs Aaron Popelka.
First the Governor will tour Clawson Farms in Plains from 11:35 a.m.-12:35 p.m. Then Colyer will visit Gardiner Angus Ranch from 2:20 p.m.-3:20 p.m.
On Tuesday Colyer issued Drought Declarations for all 105 Kansas counties. The declaration includes all counties either in an emergency, warning or watch status. All of SW Kansas is currently in drought emergency or warning.
