Scott City sweeps double dual

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Coming off a sixth place tournament finish in Abilene on Saturday, and a two-week break in front of them, the Scott City Beavers were looking to end the pre-Christmas schedule on a high note Tuesday night at home, facing Liberal and Holcomb in a double dual. In the end, the Beavers had to feel good about themselves, sweeping through Liberal 40-36 and Holcomb 58-12 to end the night.

Scott City in their dual with Liberal would give up three weight classes, and won six of their 10 matches against the Redskins, with five of them coming by fall and one on a major decision.

In their final dual of the night against the Longhorns, Scott City won six of the eight matches wrestled, with five of the matches ending in a fall.

Up next for Scott City will be the J.R. Durham Invitational in Norton on Saturday, January 6, 2018.
