Terrones promoted to Garden City Highway Maintanence Supervisor

Garden City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) KDOT has named Hector Terrones of Garden City as the new Garden City Highway Maintenance Supervisor. Terrones has been with KDOT since September of 2007 when he was hired as an Equipment Operator Trainee in Garden City. He was promoted to Equipment Operator later that year.

As the Garden City Highway Maintenance Supervisor, Terrones will be responsible for planning and organizing highway maintenance activities, supervising the sub-area crew of equipment operators in the performance of highway maintenance activities such as pavement repair, bridge repair, drainage, and roadside repairs and will oversee snow and ice operations.

During his ten years with KDOT, Hector has been part of two Example of Excellence teams. Once receiving the award for work done on a local bridge and a second time for being part of the team that resurfaced the CDL practice course so that it could be used year-round.
