Dodge City Library helping out during the holidays
Dodge City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) Now that winter is upon us, Dodge City Public Library would like to help our residents in need of special warm items. The library is collecting blankets which will be given to Genesis Family Health (UMMAM). The blankets can be new or clean gently used ones. Bring them to the library and place them in the box by the tree close to the check-out desk. Genesis Family Health will then distribute them to their clients.
You are also invited to help decorate the mitten tree. Each year the Credit Union sponsors the Coats for Kids project. To assist them the youth department collects mittens, caps and scarfs for children to go with the coats they receive. Bring the items to the library and place them on the tree as decorations. Jackets, sweaters and sweatshirts can also be brought and placed under the tree. When the tree comes down the items will be given to the Coats for Kids project to help keep the children warm.
If you have any questions about either of these projects please give the library a call at 225-0248. The library is located at 1001 North 2nd Avenue. Let’s all help make this a warm winter for the families in Dodge City.
